MEET MIKE, DORA & THE RCS TEAM

RCS Construction, Inc. has served North Carolina and Southside Virginia in the heart of Lake Gaston/Kerr Lake exclusively for the past ten years, and continues to do so today by exceeding customer’s expectations! We will “Make your house the home of your dreams” for you, on your lot or ours. Together we manage all the pieces of your project by ensuring timely and consistent quality construction, whether it's a custom stick-built home, remodel,  or room addition. You choose the details and let us handle the hassles to provide you with a rewarding home building experience!

Our internal capabilities allow us to add a personal touch in sharing steady project progress with our many long distance customers:  current photos are provided as changes occur, and allow out-of-town clients the opportunity to feel like they actually own their project! Just ask our customers!

RCS Construction is proudly co-owned by Virginia residents Michael and Dora Smith, who believe in supporting their local suppliers and charities.  These are some of the charities we supported in 2009:  Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center, the new Cancer Rehabilitation Center of South Hill's CMH Foundation, the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life of Mecklenburg and Brunswick Counties, CMH Hospice, Lake Gaston Soccer Association, Lake Gaston and Longbridge Fire Departments, the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Department, the Mecklenburg-Brunswick Regional Airport and the Lake Gaston Chamber of Commerce. Our goal is to continue to increase our support for the community in which we live.

Mike is a third-generation builder and carries on the tradition of the trade loved by both his father and grandfather. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he proudly served our Country for six years. During his tenure in the military, he achieved recognition as a U.S. Ranger while completing his engineering degree from the University of Texas.

Dora has a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, with concentration in Business Management. This background allows her to sufficiently handle various office management roles daily, support field work and assist customers. She is also licensed in North Carolina and Virginia as a Real Estate agent with Century 21 Clary & Associates Inc. in South Hill, if you need help finding an ideal building site. Quality downtime is spent with family, friends and Cheyenne, the family's yellow lab
